PRP & PRF for oral surgery. Support for healing.

Platelet-rich plasma and platelet-rich fibrin are options your surgeon may use alongside oral surgery or bone grafting. We help you understand what they are and whether they fit your care.

YOUR CARE

An addition to an individual plan.

YOUR RECOVERY

Follow your aftercare instructions.

PRP: platelet-rich plasma

A small blood sample is processed to concentrate platelets in plasma. Platelets contain growth factors involved in tissue repair. PRP can be used alongside selected procedures, including bone grafting.

PRF: platelet-rich fibrin

PRF combines platelets with a fibrin network. Your surgeon may use this material at an extraction or other surgical site to support wound healing. It is prepared from your own blood as part of the procedure.

For selected wisdom teeth procedures, PRF may support socket healing and reduce postoperative discomfort and the risk of dry socket. Results vary, and your surgeon will explain the expected benefit in your case.

Where these options may fit

Walsh offers PRP and PRF in selected treatment plans, including wisdom tooth removal and grafting. They are additions to surgical care, not replacements for your procedure or postoperative instructions.

Understand the recommendation

Ask why your surgeon recommends the material, the expected benefit for your procedure, and whether it adds to the cost. Healing varies between patients.
