YOUR GUIDE

Specific to this procedure.

YOUR PLAN

Follow your personal instructions.

YOUR TEAM

Call if something is unclear.

This overview helps you find your way. Read the complete instructions above and follow the personal guidance from your surgical team.

After an extraction

Follow the child’s gauze instructions and offer soft foods. Avoid straws, finger or toy contact with the mouth, and foods that could disturb the site.

While the mouth is numb

Watch your child to prevent lip biting or sucking. Offer suitable soft foods until normal feeling returns.

After anesthesia

A responsible adult should take the child home and remain with them for the rest of the day. Follow the discharge instructions for rest, observation, and restarting food and drink.

Pain or nausea

Give medicines only as directed for your child. Contact the office if nausea or vomiting lasts more than a few hours, or if any other concern arises.
